Open Settings, Ship Later in Addora ↗

When a shopper reaches the shipping step at checkout, they see your Ship Later option listed alongside your other shipping rates. Selecting it does not trigger a shipping charge. Instead, the order is held by Addora until the customer decides to ship, at which point shipping is charged based on whatever rates you configure.

What the shopper sees

  • The Ship Later option appears in the list of shipping methods on the checkout shipping step, labelled with the name you set (default: "Ship Later (Addora)").
  • Enter the checkout name and a description of up to 150 characters, preview the result and save. Name and description customization is available on every plan, including Free. Marker-free detection needs a distinct configured name for each published storefront language.
  • The shipping cost shows as $0.00 or free at checkout. This is correct: shipping is not charged at the time of purchase.
  • After placing the order, the customer receives your standard Shopify order confirmation. The order then appears in their held orders page so they can choose when to ship.

What makes Ship Later appear

Two things must be in place before Ship Later shows up for a shopper.

Where Ship Later sits in the list

By default, Ship Later is shown first in the shipping list. You can also place it second or last. See Where Ship Later sits in the list for guidance on which setting to choose.

Carts with pre-order or in-stock items mixed together

If a cart contains a mix of regular in-stock items and pre-order products, you can control whether Ship Later appears, is hidden, or is the only option. See When a cart has in-stock and pre-order items.
