Every held item in Addora has a status that tells you where it is in its journey from reserved to shipped. The status changes automatically as conditions are met, or you can move it by hand from the Operations page.

The three active statuses

  • Held. The item is reserved and waiting. It cannot be shipped yet. The order detail shows the reason: waiting on a release date, waiting on supplier confirmation, or held manually.
  • Ready. The item's hold condition has been met. The customer can add it to a shipment and choose shipping. It remains held, and no shipment has gone out yet.
  • Shipped. The item has been fulfilled. This is a final status. The customer sees their tracking information.

How items move between statuses

Addora moves items between statuses automatically when release conditions are met, and updates them when a fulfillment is recorded in Shopify. You can also move individual items by hand.

  • Held to Ready (automatic): the release date arrives, or your stock-confirmation field shows the item is available. Addora updates this regularly, so it happens on its own.
  • Held to Ready (manual): open the order in Operations, Orders (in Addora ↗), find the item, and click Mark ready.
  • Ready to Held (automatic): a release date is moved to a future date after the item was already marked ready.
  • Ready to Held (manual): click Hold on a ready item in Operations. Use this if you need to pull an item back before it ships.
  • Ready to Shipped: you release the hold in Operations and the fulfillment completes, or a fulfillment is recorded in Shopify by another app.
  • Held or Ready to Shipped (external fulfillment): if the item is fulfilled in Shopify admin or by a third-party system without going through Addora, the item is marked shipped automatically.

The needs-review flag

In rare cases an item may be flagged as needing review. This happens when an automatic transition could not be completed cleanly, for example when a fulfillment happened outside Addora or a status change was rejected. Items with this flag appear with a warning badge in Operations. Review and clear the flag from the order detail once you have confirmed the item is in the right state.
