01 Paid does not always mean ready to pack
A paid order can contain three different operational situations: an item on your shelf, an announced release that has not arrived, and a supplier item you still need to obtain. Treating them all as unfulfilled leaves staff and customers guessing. A tag can describe the order, but your packing process still needs a reliable decision about which items may leave.
The challenge grows when suppliers send partial deliveries. A customer may have stock ready from an earlier order and one late item from a later purchase. You need to preserve the outstanding commitment while letting eligible products move according to the shipping policy you promised.
02 Keep availability separate from the shipping decision
A Shopify inventory quantity, a supplier estimate and a customer’s request to wait are different facts. Addora’s readiness workflow helps separate items waiting for stock from ready items a customer has deliberately left on hold.
Your purchasing process remains responsible for obtaining the goods and confirming arrivals. Addora is not a supplier ordering system, a warehouse management system, or a promise of live inventory synchronization with every supplier.
03 Make the reason for waiting visible
Configure how Addora recognizes supplier items using the supported product tags or metafields, and test representative products. Choose whether mixed orders wait together or allow eligible ready items to move separately. Keep product data consistent so the same item is not described as immediately available in one place and waiting elsewhere.
As deliveries arrive, use the app’s readiness controls after checking the actual goods. The customer experience distinguishes ready from waiting items. In a Ship Later workflow, customers can select eligible ready items for a shipment and leave the remaining items held. In a preorder-led workflow, use the configured release behavior for orders that already paid normal shipping.
